According to information provided by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Tirean (Tyrene) Blair, 31, of Warsaw, entered the bedroom of a home at 5891 N. 300 W., Warsaw, at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The resident of the home, Norman Stutzman, said he was awakened when Blair entered his bedroom and ripped the covers from the bed that Stutzman and Chelsae Culp were sleeping in.
Blair allegedly verbally threatened both individuals and when Stutzman got out of the bed Blair punched the side of his face and then threw Culp into an adjacent closet. Both victims also said Blair punched a mirror as he left the room and went outside the residence where he damaged a tire valve stem on Stutzman’s vehicle.
Officers were called to the scene at about 3:57 a.m. and did document damage to the room, as well as injuries to both victims.
Blair had fled the location by the time police arrived, but was later located at his residence on Grandview Drive by KCSD deputies. Blair was taken into custody, but refused to provide a statement on the incident to officers.
Blair’s bond was set at $2,000 and has since bonded out of the Kosciusko County Jail.
Blair is a volunteer fireman for Warsaw Fire Department. Fire chief Mike Brubaker says he cannot comment on Blair’s current status with the department, which is pending an internal review. Blair, however, is reporting that he is no longer on the WFD.
