Emergency personnel responded to a house fire at 1010 E. Smith St., Warsaw. County records indicate the home is owned by Juan Buitrago.
The residents of the home called 911 to report their kitchen was on fire. The two adults and a child in the home safely evacuated. Warsaw Fire Department was called and asked for a full assist from Winona Lake Fire Department.
Smith Street was closed between Maple and Wood streets for approximately an hour.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. and was noted to be under control just minutes after fire crews arrived on scene. The local Red Cross chapter was called to assist the family who is displaced due to the fire.
