UPDATE: Accident At Main and Detroit in Warsaw

Market and Detroit5According to a report issued by the Warsaw Police Department: at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, Matthew J. Harris, 29, Overlook Road, Marion, was driving his SUV southbound on Detroit Street and ran the red light at the intersection of Detroit Street and Main Street.

In doing so, Harris collided with a passenger car driven by Marlene K. Stookey, 51, Zimmer Road, Warsaw. The impact of the collision caused Stookey’s vehicle to leave the roadway and come to a rest in a flower bed at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Stookey complained of pain in the ribs on her right side. She was transported to KCH for treatment by Medic 9. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

INITIAL REPORT: At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, an accident occurred between two vehicles at the intersection of Detroit Street and Main Street in Warsaw. After impact the small passenger car was forced into landscape near the intersection.

According to a Warsaw Police Department officer at the scene, one individual has been transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for abdominal pain.

The Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
