WARSAW — Firefighters from Warsaw and Winona Lake responded to a house fire at 533 East Market Street in Warsaw on Saturday morning, March 2.
Central Dispatch announced the fire at 7:53 a.m. and called Winona Lake to respond with an assist of Warsaw units shortly thereafter.
Personnel at the scene called back to dispatchers within minutes to announce that all occupants were out of the house, which became engulfed in flames. However, witnesses at the scene said they believed a pet cat may still be inside.
Although smoke continued to billow from the front of the gray, two-story house, firefighters reported the blaze “under control” at around 8:20 a.m. Firefighters called for utility company personnel to assist at the scene and announced at 8:46 a.m. that all gas and electric had been turned off in the house. Also assisting at the scene were officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Warsaw Police Department.
